Fraser Public Schools has nine sites and serves over 5,000 students by offering preschool, daycare, summer camp, and after school care. They strive to provide a modern and personalized learning experience for all students to excel in a continually changing world.
Michelle Renaud has been the accounting supervisor at Fraser Public Schools for over two years. When she took the job, EZ-CARE2 was already in place, but was only being used at its most basic level. “Although we had EZ-CARE2, we weren’t taking advantage of all the tools it offered,” she said. “Most of our processes were still done manually. The billing process took days, even weeks to complete. We also had trouble staying on top of who had not yet paid. When the new school year came around, it would take us three weeks to input all of the new registrations by hand, so we were unable to bill even though the kids had been in school for almost a month. We were wasting too much time on these manual processes. I figured that we had the tools at our disposal; we just needed to take advantage of them.”
Fraser now uses EZ-CARE2 at seven different sites with payment processing, TimeClock, and WebLink online registration forms, all of which have dramatically changed how Fraser Public Schools operates.

“The electronic payment processing has sped up our ability to collect payments, as well as our ability to stay on top of those who were slow to pay. What used to take two weeks is now down to 24 hours!” noted Michelle. “This has also made the payment process more secure. It’s easier, safer, and more traceable when we collect online as opposed to in person. And because it’s so easy, we’re collecting more electronically than ever before. In 2011-12, we collected about $15,000 in electronic payments, but in 2012-13 that jumped to over $198,000!“
“Registrations have become a breeze too,” Michelle continued. “Paper registrations were not only slow, but also unorganized. Now, parents can register instantly online, and it’s all automatically transferred right to our EZ-CARE2 system. “Parents are thrilled with the changes,” Michelle said, “so much so that they have been asking why we didn’t make them sooner! Initially, we were worried that they might not be on board for changing the registration and payment processes, among other things, but they’ve loved it. We were also hesitant to change because we’re not tech people. The setup seemed intimidating at first, but after the one-on-one training and webinars, we’ve really learned the system and it’s made a huge difference. The support staff will talk you through all of your questions. If someone were to ask me, I would recommend the Premium Support package, which allows you to call in at any time for support.”
Michelle concluded, “I know change can be scary, but EZ-CARE2 has completely changed, for the better, how we operate as a school district.”
